I have really fabulous clients, they are all fabulous actually, and from all walks of life. Julie is one of my faves. She comes to my studio with delicious hot coffees, and after we talk about the design brief at hand, we talk about life, kids and issues of the day. When she leaves I feel uplifted and content. Julie has travelled all over the country with her amazing psychic shows. She appeared on the series “The One” and has been associated with many celebrity readings. Here is something well worth supporting.

Emily Tapp has only one wish: To get the chance to get back on her feet. Left paraplegic after a horse riding accident in January last year, Emily, who grew up on Roper Valley and Mountain Valley Station, had to go through three months of stabilisation therapy, before she was moved to a hospital in Brisbane for rehabilitation.

Now sharing a modified house with her sister Courtney Tapp, the 21-year-old still has to go to regular therapies to build core strength, but while she has received outstanding medical care in Australia, she says she has not made as much progress as she would have liked. But a special spinal rehabilitation program, undertaken in California, America could help. The program would allow Emily to receive up to five hours of intensive physiotherapy treatment five times a week, which could get her closer to achieving her dream of one day walking again.

In Brisbane – where she currently is completing rehabilitation – she only gets one two-hour session a week.

“The project in America is called ‘Project Walk’ and it really is something that I feel very strongly will help me get back on my feet,” Emily said. “Project Walk is the largest spinal rehabilitation centre in the world, and they are motivated and driven to push you out of your comfort zone and not limit your outcome by negativity.”

“I would be able to do almost 25 hours of physio a week – and I know that I would make serious progress in my mobility. Emily said she feels the program in America is her “real shot” at walking again.

I have a special affinity to Christmas. Not only for the spiritual, traditional, and social reasons, but for others as well.

Both my  dear Grandfathers were born on Christmas Day.
I was engaged to be married to my wonderful husband on Christmas Day,
and my name, Natalie: means Christmas Child.

So no wonder this is my most favourite time of the year.

This is not my original idea, Ive seen it all over the net, but I just love it… using clear jars and bottles with bits of shrubbery to decorate the the centre of the table.

I’m not much of a gardener, so no flowers, but we have lots and lots of  trees. This suits me fine.

This is out on our verandah, where we have morning coffee and afternoon tea.

Ive made it a bit Christmassy too.

Well, the guy in the big red suit is well and truly on his way, and the countdown is on. Everything is a bit sideways here, the house is busy with my children, neighbours children and friends coming and going. Cousins have come to stay and there is some secret pressy squeezing going on in stolen moments.

We seem to be setting the table and sitting down to big meals every single day. Its the most fabulous time of year.

I decorated with simple things this year.  Like baubles in a glass hurricane lamp for the table centre piece.

Simple words with wooden letters.

A string of advent bags with a chocolate frog in each.

Small branches snipped from a fir tree outside makes my little bird collections more festive.

Today I’m tying up the last few loose ends at work and, except for one delivery, and a pickup in the morning, I’m pretty much done-ski. Its been a marathon month. Im so excited about a break. I think really deserve it. I hope you are having a wonderful time with your family and friends, however you may celebrate…wherever you may be. Nat
