Nothing to say, just a moment of simple tranquility in my friends’ Gypsy Garden.

On my way back from Kingaroy, there is a beautiful tree plantation. I had to stop and take some images. I just love the repetition of the trunks, they go on forever. The images felt very European to me, so despite it being 40 degrees that day, I decided to make them icy cold.

A wide variety of Logos this week. PV Ag has a very environmental feel to it. Love the smooth curves and colours.  Big Sky is funky and retro. It will be overlayed on movie stills. Sugar Mama is a new specialty cake and decorating business, by a very clever lady. Innovative logos for innovative ventures.

Though I’d share with you a little gem. Here is the steeple on the Anglican Church. It goes so unnoticed and look at the cloud formation behind it. Have a happy and relaxing weekend. Nat

Yesterday my little friend and I were walking across the paddock talking and laughing. I asked her to walk ahead so I could take some shots in the sun light of her hair. Wow, I thought, just beautiful. I looked down and reviewed my images. Yep, I have the most fantastic images ever. Hurriedly I dashed back to my studio with my heart pounding at the thought of loading my best ever images. I tweeked them and MMS’d them to two friends.  Feeling satisfied and chuffed, I awaited their critique.  ”Great shot” came from one. No answer, from another.

Hmmm. Maybe not such great shots after all.

Then I realised something.

When taking images not only does there have to be great composition/creativity, technical correctness and exposure, but also emotion.  My judges did not share that emotion I had.  It wasn’t their fault. For they were not in the paddock with my little friend, in the sunshine, walking and laughing…. and so were missing that third element.  I did take the best image ever, it won’t win any awards, but for me will forever be in my mind as one of the most enjoyable afternoons I’ve had, with my little friend. This past week I have been working with Schofields of Goondiwindi photographing models and designing storyboards for summer television commercials. We wanted a casual, young fun feel and with the models I worked with, there was no shortage of that!  We laughed and laughed.

Its a busy week ahead with Border Living Magazine is well on its way, 4 fantastic logos to be designed, finalising a devine Logo for an Agricultural Company (that I will show you during the week), an exciting new festival logo, (which is still under wraps), the last of the Xmas catalogues that are out the door tommorrow, new coffee shop menus to print and some scratch & win cards to proof, and thats just Monday.  I’m blogging here at this time of night as I burn through 60 DVD movie disks so that tomorrow I can design the covers, print and package them off to their excited owner.
