“Australian storyteller Nicole Alexander is the bestselling author of three #1 Australian Fiction novels; The Bark Cutters, A Changing Land & Absolution Creek. The Bark Cutters remains the highest selling debut novel in the rural literature genre and was shortlisted for an Australian Book Industry Award in 2011. Nicole is a fourth generation NSW grazier and working partner on a property that has been in her family for 120 years.”
Nicole Alexander, Australian Story Teller, has just released her newest novel Sunset Ridge. I had the absolute pleasure of travelling out to the property to photograph Nicole, and whilst I don’t design the book covers, (The publishers look after that.) I do get to do bits and bobs like Facebook banners, photography, website landing page, bookmarks and stickers here and there.
Nicole is on tour at the moment and if you can, check out where she is in Australia, through Facebook. Call in to meet Nicole, buy a book and have your very own copy of Sunset Ridge signed. You wont be able to put this book down! She is the most amazing, elegant, intelligent country woman/storyteller/farmer/person, I have ever met. Sunset Ridge, book number six, is yet another master peice. Follow Nicole on Facebook Here and check out Nicole’s website Here. A review of Sunset Ridge is Here.
Nicole and her talent just blows me away!
Be amazing everyday! Nat

What a wonderful way to celebrate spring! Border Living Magazine is on shelves throughout the region. This issue is jam packed with amazing stories, wonderful people, and places, that nurture the mind and body. I really enjoyed laying out this issue, it’s always a privilege to be given the job of designing this home grown publication… where else in the world would there be stories like this. Grab a copy & support your local business’ as well as your fabulous, glossy, local magazine. I have my copy here now, and I’m off to enjoy it over a coffee, with a pear friand, at a quaint little coffee shop called Chatters in Pittsworth! Have a happy day; Natxx
Preparations are well on their way for Felton Food Festival on Sunday 27th April 2014.
Vigour Graphics has designed DL flyers for 2014, featuring a brief outline of the day and the free bus timetable. 2013 saw over 5000 people attend, with cooking classes, wine and beer appreciation classes, delicious foods from all cultures, fresh produce and market stalls at every turn.
I met Celebrity Chef Alistair McLeod. Here he is pictured above, with a delicious Belvue Dorper Lamb dish, that he cooked in one of the cooking challenges using only local produce.
In the blue shirt is my son helping with the demonstration. His job was to roll mince into cabbage leaves, kind of “dolmades” style. We laughed when Alistair made fun of him. Lucky Mitch is a good sport!
Here is the view from across the paddock. Felton is one of Australia’s most productive farming areas and the paddocks are a patchwork of wonderful colours all year round.
Heaps more material for the Felton Food Festival is on its way over the next few months. Save the date for April 27th 2014. It will be bigger and better than ever, if that is possible! Graphic Design, Event Coverage and Images by Vigour Graphics.
Have a perfect day. Nat xx
How sweet this tiny girl is… I so enjoyed spending an early morning session with her and her Mum.
We played near the water, chased the ducks and ran in the long grass.
We had this spot all to ourselves…with not a single person in sight. Not even a fisherman.
My working week is made up of many things, and some of it is always spent designing advertisements for newspapers, magazines and websites. I design advertisements for all sorts of businesses, including clothing stores, chemists, real estate, motels, restaurants, photographers, machinery sales and even freight companies. I put alot of thought into each and every one.
Here is an ad for The Town House Restaurant in Goondiwindi. For this ad I wanted to give a film like, double glass effect, with Lauren Bacall styled undertones. Working with supplied images and an open brief, gave me an opportunity to tweak the images to the effect I was after. Being really happy with the result, Lisa and David have an effective, eye catching, attractive ad designed to get results, and I had the opportunity to visit a period of photography that featured the lovely Lauren Bacall.
Till next time. Nat
If you are a keen fisherman, or just keen for a share in 10k worth of prizes, then this poster is for you. Design and top half photography by Vigour Graphics, Ive left a link so you can read the finer details and join in. What better way to spend some time with your kids, Dad, or Pop over Easter. Ciao for now. Nat
I’m only a cat,
and I stay in my place…
Up there on your chair,
on your couch or your face!
I’m only a cat,
and I don’t finick much…
I’m happy with cream
and anchovies and such!
I’m only a cat,
and we’ll get along fine…
As long as you know
your place… and I’ll know mine!
Border Living Magazine is out on shelves this week. A fabulous autumn issue, with the most beautiful photography ever.
On page 33 is the Dalby Landscapes and Home Garden Supplies Mothers Day Shopping page, who just so happen to be one my favourite retailers. They have the Crabtree and Evelyn Sampler Box, with the decorator tin. (pictured in centre) This is my pick for Mothers Day. It is simply divine, and they have enough for phone orders if you are quick. (They are well under $100 as well!)
I hope you can enjoy the last few days of warmth as the weather turns cool, and nature starts painting our trees in the lovely colours of yellow and gold.
Stay happy and well, Nat.
