Award winning photographer, Yup, yup, yup. Have never been able to say that!
Im very chuffed indeed.
“Why Thankyou, Thankyou very much….”
………..Elvis has just left the building….
Its Wheat harvest here at the moment. For fun, on our way home I decided to unload the cow and photograph her. It was hilarious. The header operator thought so too, but I must say…doesnt she look divine! Till next time, Nat
Meet “Parfume de Kow”, or The Vigour Cow.
I was in need of a sign, or a marker for the front of Vigour Graphics. Big signs didnt appeal to me, and as the Vigour Graphics building is a studio separated from my home by a breeze-way, in a semi-rural area, I decided that a lifesize image of a cow would be perfect. We waited 2 months for her arrival from Melbourne and when she did we were as pleased as punch. The time frame was perfect and gave me time to think about how she should be painted, then set out to pasture in the front paddock.
I spent every Sunday I could getting a few hours in. My skeptics, (my dear family and dear friends) watched as she came to life. Even they have grown to love her. The week she was finished, she ended up in a local art exhibition, (out the front on the street, more so than in the gallery) and drew a great crowd of admirers. The following week she was invited to the local high school for Expressive Arts Week. By now I was keen to have her home….to be continued……
Here she is at Fairway Studios Art Gallery, (above) and here she is at the high school. (below).
Our whole town is covered in a purple carpet, the jacaranda trees are in bloom and its a beautiful day. Can you tell me why are we locked in this studio?
No-matter, lets make time tommorrow. Nat
Sometimes its just nice to have High Tea with some friends on a warm Sunday afternoon. Especially when your a guest in the company of nine year olds.
We’ve started the promotional material for Mezzo Soprano, Sally Wilson and Concert Pianist, Mark Kruger. They are coming to Australia for their National Tour from Belgium. This is the promotional web flyer that will be going around. Currently brochures are being printed and the early layout of the concert souvenir book has begun. To visit Mark To visit Sally.
I have been fortunate to not only see Sally and Mark live, but also to photograph them. Their performance is very funny, clever, witty and charming, opera is not about a fat lady singing….. oh so not about that at all, which really opened my eyes! Check them out. Nat
Border Living has hit the shelves this week. This issue is the magazines 2nd birthday, so it seemed only fitting for us to put this gorgeous shot of local 2 year old on the front. The colours are especially bright and bold for spring and as usual the inside pages are bursting with interesting stories about people, food, fashion and events. Support this great local magazine about local people, by local writers and local photographers; get your copy now. Nat
I wanted to show you my top 2 logos we designed this week. This first one is for Jewellery, Hat and Accessory designer NF Designs. I really like this one. I am especially taken by the bird and the chocolate box stripes.
The second is for Sydney based company Beautiful Tiles. I liked working with their colours and the job portfolio was open ended. That meant I had considerable freedom, and this one is the one they chose.
Spotcolour in Toowoomba have a huge range of specialised stationery supplies that you will find nowhere else. Why? because we design them! Here is a cover shot of the Vintage Cupcake series.
