Work is so busy here and I felt like taking 5 minutes out to clear my head… I thought I would share some images with you. We’ve been out in the wheat again, taking stock photos for Agricultural Companies, printing and promotion. I met some young brothers while on one property, so took the opportunity to photograph them.  It passed the time while I was waiting for the headers to do another loop past me. They have great faces, dirt n’ all and were so well mannered.  I really enjoyed their company and they had so much funny information to share with me. They were occupying themselves at the side of the paddock until their Dad finished for the day. Here are some other images below, from other properties.

The Vigour Cow; part 2

Its Wheat harvest here at the moment.  For fun, on our way home I decided to unload the cow and photograph her. It was hilarious.  The header operator thought so too, but I must say…doesnt she look divine! Till next time, Nat

The Vigour Cow

The Vigour Cow in progressMeet “Parfume de Kow”, or The Vigour Cow.

I was in need of a sign, or a marker for the front of  Vigour Graphics. Big signs didnt appeal to me, and as the Vigour Graphics building is a studio separated from my home by a breeze-way, in a semi-rural area, I decided that a lifesize image of a cow would be perfect. We waited 2 months for her arrival from Melbourne and when she did we were as pleased as punch. The time frame was perfect and gave me time to think about how she should be painted, then set out to pasture in the front paddock.

In DetailI spent every Sunday I could getting a few hours in.  My skeptics, (my dear family and dear friends) watched as she came to life.  Even they have grown to love her.  The week she was finished, she ended up in a local art exhibition, (out the front on the street, more so than in the gallery) and drew a great crowd of admirers.  The following week she was invited to the local high school for Expressive Arts Week.  By now I was keen to have her home….to be continued……

Parfoom de kowHere she is at Fairway Studios Art Gallery, (above) and here she is at the high school. (below).

Vintage Images

I really like the look of faded vintage images.  These are not the real thing. I edited them in photoshop. The secret is using snaps for your subject, minimal depth of field , and uncomposed shots. Achieving the vintage look involves playing with the hue and saturation settings. Im bored with brightly coloured landscapes, sunsets and flower images so I thought I would give this look a try.

Town Clock

When was the last time you looked at the Town Clock……. no I mean REALLY looked at the Town Clock?

Town Clocks are fascinating pieces of architecture and really fun to photograph.  You can take images from all angles, and it is a challenge to get something really different from an ants-eye-view.  I have to admit, I didn’t realise we had a weather vane on the top of ours, until I photographed it! Now what Id really like are some gargoyles!!
